Ambition

Industrial-scale elicitation so plant chemistry is optimized and reproducible, at about 3.6 million plants a year. The aim is batch-consistent, pesticide-free, fully traceable potency for cosmetics, nutraceuticals, and pharma-adjacent use, with broader bioactives often 3 to 30× higher than typical field crops.

What they do

Produces Solein®, a food-grade protein made by gas-fermenting a naturally occurring hydrogen-oxidising microbe. In a bioreactor the organism uses hydrogen for energy and CO₂ as carbon, with water, nutrients, and electricity; whole cells are harvested and dried into protein-rich powder. Protein from air in the literal sense: gases supply the carbon and energy inputs.

Make protein less dependent on land, seasons, and weather. Factory 01 in Vantaa has a 20,000 litre bioreactor and capacity of up to 160 tonnes a year; Factory 02 in Lappeenranta is planned toward multi-thousand-tonne capacity.
